The Hummel Corporate and Professional Education Center

Herkimer County Community College offers a business-friendly environment complete with conference facilities and superior service. If your organization needs a convenient central location to hold regional meetings, training programs, or conferences, HCCC's Hummel Corporate and Professional Education Center is the solution. HCCC is located just off Exit 30 of the NY State Thruway, an easy drive for meeting/conference participants from Albany, Schenectady, Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Cooperstown, Cortland, Oneonta, Binghamton, and other locations across the Central New York region.

Let our professional staff take care of room arrangements, food services and technical support to meet your requirements. The entire Hummel Center is wired to make computer presentations, audio/visual services, and satellite teleconferences simple. As a meeting or conference planner, you can focus on the content of your program and let our staff take care of the details.

Facilities

At HCCC you can choose from a variety of state-of-the art facilities designed to accommodate meetings, workshops, conferences and more.

Amphitheater

Get a good view of the twelve-foot projection screen from any one of the 124 seats in our main amphitheater conference room. Sit back and relax in the ergonomically designed seating. The Amphitheater has a fixed configuration as well as a flexible seating area. It is the perfect facility for presentations that require the latest in projection technology.

This state-of-the-art multimedia presentation meeting room provides computer network ports on all seats. The Amphitheater's Creston Control Systems allow the speaker to control all aspects of the presentation from the podium. A second Creston Control System, located in the projection room at the rear of the amphitheater, can be operated by our technicians, leaving the speaker free to concentrate on the presentation.

The two Creston Control Systems feature all of the following:

• DVD Player
• CD/Cassette Player
• Slide Projection
• Lighting
• Projection Screen
• Audio Volume Levels

The podium on the stage has a built-in touch panel for viewing the computer and video displays. Additionally, the amphitheater is equipped with cable-ready VCR, DVD and a CD/Cassette player, along with built-in microphone and optional wireless lavaliere microphone. The amphitheater can be used as a site for downlink of satellites for conferencing.

Meeting Rooms

Where elegance and technology come together. Our conference and meeting rooms can be configured to comfortably accommodate large or small groups. Each room can be arranged in the style that best meets your business function. All rooms are furnished to provide a comfortable setting for your event. The entire Hummel Center is wired to make computer presentations, audio/visual services, and satellite teleconferences simple.

Breakout Area

Take a break and enjoy the view in our relaxing lounge. This comfortable area is the perfect spot to relax and kick back while taking a break from your seminar or meeting. This is also an ideal spot to provide light refreshments for your meeting guests in the Hummel Corporate and Professional Education Center.

James - Lee Computer Room

Our Computer Lab provides the ideal environment for computer application training. Each workstation provides plenty of space with a minimum of vertical clutter, as all monitors are recessed under a glare-resistant desk. Twenty computer workstations allow your participants to have hands on training. The instructor's workstation projects onto an overhead screen for participants to follow.

Corporate Conference Room

This facility is designed to provide a boardroom setting.  It features video conferencing capabilities and is equipped with an interactive audio/visual teleconferencing system.

Cogar Art Gallery

The Cogar Gallery, located at the entrance of the Hummel Corporate and Professional Education Center, offers a refreshing change of pace for participants of training programs or meetings. It can be the perfect place for quiet, individual contemplation or an elegant setting for receptions and networking/refreshment breaks. The Cogar Gallery schedules local, regional and national art exhibitions throughout the year.

Food Services and Overnight Accomodations

Over the years we've come to understand the secrets to a successful corporate function. While the latest high-tech equipment is important, the real key to making your participants happy is the food. When it comes to meals, we've got what you want. We can start your event with a delicious breakfast buffet and end with an elegant dinner.

Need a place to stay while you're attending your conference? We have just the place for you! Your overnight accommodations can be made directly in the communities of the beautiful Mohawk Valley. The Hummel Center's professional staff can assist you with lodging.

Recreation Get Fit!

It's a workout...with a view. HCCC's new Fitness Center features upgraded equipment, expanded hours and a wall of windows overlooking the scenic Mohawk Valley. Cycle, run on the treadmill or take a spin around the Universal Super Circuit, a weightlifting circuit with a cardiovascular twist. Other campus facilities are available as well, including an elevated indoor running track, swimming pool and two gymnasiums.

Herkimer County Community College offers a variety of outdoor recreational facilities, including nature trails, tennis courts, an indoor track, softball and baseball diamonds, and archery ranges.
