Women's Track & Field 2008 NJCAA National Champions!

The Women's Track & Field squad competed in the National Championship meet held in Delhi, NY on Saturday. The Lady Generals took first place with 135 points, with the runner-up (Cobleskill) finishing with 82 points and Coach Sharon Howell taking home "Coach of the Meet" honors.

Track and Field Wins Regional Championship
HCCC’s women’s track and field team won a Regional championship by an impressive score of 163.5 with MVCC in second with 115. First place finishers were: Chantal Salamone in the triple jump and 100 hurdles, Sarah Lazarus 3000 steeplechase, Beth Jennings in the shot put, Amanda Davey in the 400 hurdles, Chantal also received female Field Athlete of the meet.

The men took 7th place. Kurt Vowell took 1st in the triple jump and 3rd in the long jump. He also ran on the 6th place 400 relay team. Tom McLaughlin 4th in the 10000, Carl Patterson 5th in the high jump, Todd Payne 2nd in the discus, Alex Davis 5th in the hammer and 6th in the shot, Kurt was named male Field Athlete of the meet.
