Former Herkimer County Community College men's soccer player Ryan Pierce helped lead the Baltimore Blast to win the 2008 Major Indoor Soccer League Championship. The Blast defeated La Raza (Mexico) by a score of 14-11 Saturday to win their fourth championship in six years.
"Ryan has won two professional soccer championships in one year in two different leagues," said HCCC soccer coach Pepe Aragon. "What he has accomplished in his first year as a professional is amazing. Most players go through their entire career without ever winning a championship."
Pierce also helped lead the Harrisburg City Islanders of the United Soccer League Second Division to a title last summer.
