Herkimer Cross Country
Head Coach: Julie DelMedico
Coming into her second season as head coach, Julie DelMedico's has high expectations for the men's and women's cross country team this year. A graduate of Sauquoit Valley High School (2002), DelMedico was a four-sport varsity athlete participating in cross country, soccer, basketball and track and field. She went on to play basketball at SUNY Geneseo.
DelMedico has served as assistant coach for HCCC's track and field team for the past two seasons working specifically with the distance runners. Over her two years here, DelMedico has helped yield a national champion, Sarah Lazarus, in the 800 and 1,500 meter races in 2007. In 2008, she helped coached the women's track and field team to a Regional and National Championship, including, two individual champions; Amanda Davy - 400 Hurdles and Chantal Salamone - 100 Hurdles.
DelMedico holds a B.A. from SUNY Geneseo and is currently working toward a master's degree at SUNYIT. In addition to her coaching duties, she is employed as a technical assistant in the College's fitness center.
