Program Summary

The Social Science Program is designed to help students understand the sources of human behavior. It offers a mixture of courses in history, political science, psychology, sociology, geography, economics and anthropology. Students in this program will gain insight on topics such as prejudice, family life, democracy, human personality, crime, poverty, unemployment and inflation.

Skill Requirements

Students entering this program should have a strong reading, writing and conversational ability. A genuine curiosity about other cultures and history is very important.

Nature of the Work

Most students gravitate to one or more of the specific fields in Social Science - economics, history, geography, psychology, sociology, etc. Majors typically continue their studies in a four-year institution with a specific major. Graduate studies are comonly pursued as well. Social Science majors find employment in government, private enterprises, and in teaching.
