February 28, 2007 - Eight junior college teams will compete in the NJCAA Division III, Region III Men’s Basketball tournament starting Friday at Herkimer County Community College. The Herkimer Generals are the No. 2 seed with a 22-7 record on the season. They will play Friday at 6 p.m. against No. 7 Broome CC (19-10). Also on Friday, the No. 1 seed Fulton-Montgomery CC (21-4) will take on No. 8 SUNY Delhi (15-12) at 1 p.m.; No. 4 SUNY Cobleskill (21-7) will play #12 Mohawk Valley CC (17-11) at 3 p.m.; and No. 3 Onondaga CC (23-7) will face No. 11 Clinton CC (19-12) at 8 p.m. more...

All games will take place in HCCC’s Varsity Gym located in the Physical Education Building. The Herkimer Generals will play Friday at 6 pm. Other games on Friday are at 1 pm, 3 pm and 8 pm. Winners of Friday’s games will play in the semi-finals Saturday at 1pm and 3 pm. The championship game will take place Sunday at 1 pm. more...

February 22, 2007 - The Herkimer County Community College women’s swim team placed fourth at the Region III/Northeast District championship tournament at Monroe Community College February 17-18. Bianca Barbato, Utica, Eri Akiyama, Kanagawa, Japan, Chrissie Dunadee, Ilion, and Samantha Mancuso, Amsterdam, finished in second place in the 200-yeard freestyle relay. The women also finished third in the 400-yard medley and freestyle relays. Mancuso earned several individual honors including fourth place in the 500-yard freestyle, second place in the 100-yard backstroke and fourth place in the 200-yard backstroke. more...

February 16, 2007 - Herkimer County Community College is holding a Heart Run & Walk pre-registration event Tuesday, February 27 from 5-8 p.m. in the recreation gym of the Physical Education building. Participants can sign-up for the March 3 walk in Utica, or take part in an indoor walk that evening on HCCC's indoor track. Heart Association staff will be on hand to collect pledge money/forms. more...
February 16, 2007 - Herkimer County Community College has announced the continuation of its annual High School Poetry Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 9-12 from Herkimer County high schools, or high school students (including home-schooled) who are residents of Herkimer County. All students enrolled at high schools offering HCCC classes through College Now are also eligible. more...
February 13, 2007 - Herkimer County Community College students and staff participated in the Utica Curling Club’s Eighth Annual Charity Curling Challenge held recently in Whitesboro. Officers, members and staff advisors of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two year colleges; Phi Beta Lambda, the national business student association; and the Peer Tutor Club participated in the event to raise money for scholarships and charities. more...
